The Offies 2018 - Nominations Announced!

The OFFIES (Off West End Theatre Awards) have begun announcing their nominations and we are delighted to see so many UA clients in the mix! The awards aim to recognise and celebrate the excellence, innovation and ingenuity of independent theatres across London. 

Nominated for Best Female in a Play is Milly Thomas for her performance in Dust, in which she also wrote, at Soho Theatre.

Les Dennis is nominated for Best Male in a Play for his performance as Bobby in End Of The Pier at the Park Theatre, with Nitin Ganatra up being nominated for Best Supporting Male in a Play for the same production.

Elizabeth Berrington is up for Best Supporting Female in a Play, for Rasheeda Speaking at Trafalgar Studios 2, with the play also being up for Best Production, and was directed by Jonathan O’Boyle, for which he also gains a nomination for Best Director for the production. Jonathan gains a second nomination in the Best Director category for Pippin at Southwark Playhouse, which is also up for Best Musical Production.

Up for Best Production is Collective Rage: A Play In Five Betties, with Lucy McCormick at Southwark Playhouse, Pressure at Park Theatre, with Associate Director Josh Roche, and Tonight at 8:30 at Jermyn Street Theatre, with Lighting Design by Tim Mascall.

James Hillier is nominated for Best Director for Not Talking at the Arcola Theatre.

Nominated for Best Sound Designer is Max Pappenheim for his work on Stitchers at Jermyn Street Theatre.

Nominations for Best Ensemble include; Plastic at the Old Red Lion, directed by Josh Roche, Tonight at 8:30, with Lighting Design by Tim Mascall, and Why Is The Sky Blue? At Southwark Playhouse, with design by James Turner and Lighting Design by Elliot Griggs.

Up for Best Production for Young People (Ages 0-7) is Chocolate Cake at the Polka Theatre, an adaptation based on Michael Rosen’s book, with design by Verity Quinn, and Beginners at the Unicorn Theatre, written and directed by Tim Crouch.

Once at the Queens Theatre in Hornchurch is up for nominated in 6 categories, including Best Musical Production and Best Musical Director, for our director Peter Rowe.
