Tom Machell is an Actor & award winning Writer/Performer
As an Actor, Tom has recently appeared in Vera (ITV), Emmerdale (ITV), Hullraisers(CH4) as well as being a series sketch regular on The Emily Atack Show (ITV) and Every Blank Ever (Comedy Central).
Tom made his Off-Broadway debut with Carol Tambor Award Winning play Life According to Saki. Other theatre credits include Offie-nominated Outlying Islands (Kings Head Theatre), Hand To God (English Theatre Frankfurt) and three runs of Guinness World Record Holding show News Revue.
As writer Tom was selected to be part of BAFTA CONNECT, he won the UK Film Festival, Los Angeles Motion Picture Film Festival & Changing Faces International Film Festival (Best Short Script) for A Spoonful. Tom wrote and starred in first comedy short for Channel 4 in partnership with Northern Film + Media & North East Comedy Hot House entitled ‘Junior Doctors Padz’. Alongside his individual work Tom has been working with his award-winning comedy troupe zazU, who have had four sell our runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and Soho Theatre respectively.
Ticker, Tom’s debut play, was printed by Play Dead Press and completed a run at the Underbelly, Edinburgh Fringe in 2019 to critical acclaim.

Tom’s debut play Ticker was published by PlayDead Press and ran at The Underbelly, Edinburgh Fringe before transferring to Alphabetti Theatre & Northern Stage to rave reviews. Tom has just written and starred in first comedy short for Channel 4 in partnership with Northern Film + Media & North East Comedy Hot House entitled ‘Junior Doctors Padz’. He is currently developing television comedy show ‘Elliot’s Guide To Everything’ with the BFI, alongside a sitcom co-written with stand up Lauren Pattison. He recently won both The Los Angeles Motion Picture Film Festival and Changing Face International Film Festival ‘Best short script’ category for his film ‘A Spoonful’ which films in 2021 starring Kim Tserkezie. Alongside his individual work Tom has been working with his award-winning comedy troupe zazU, who have had four sell our runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and Soho Theatre respectively.
