David Elliot

David has been working for almost two decades as an actor, winning the BAFTA Scotland Best Film Actor award and more recently shifting his creative energy towards writing and directing.

David started his acting career on stage with HANGOVER, which he also wrote and directed to rave reviews. THE SCOTSMAN wrote; “Elliot has produced a breathtakingly realistic and resonant piece of writing... calls to mind a sort of sub-Irvine Welshian dialogue, but slowly it becomes apparent that the writing is more considered than that... surely destined for even greater things in the future.”

David currently has two feature films optioned. DEATH TRAP – a psychological thriller/horror and DECKY – an film adaptation of the multi-award-winning coming of age stage play.

David was one of the finalists in the ‘BBC Writersroom Interconnected’ competition in 2020, getting down to the last 0.7% from over 7000 submissions as well as being a finalist in the BBC Writersroom TV Drama Program 2021.

David is part of the BIFA 2021/2022 Springboard Program.
