Sasha trained at Anna Scher’s theatre club in Islington and with Welfare State Internation. She started working as a professional actor at the age of 16 for the BBC. She has appeared in several Plays for Today, BBC and ITV drama series including The Inspector Wexford Series and achieved cult status by playing the villain in the last ever episode of Blake’s 7.

She toured with her father Adrian Mitchell, singing the songs from his shows and performing poems from 1984 until his death in 2008. Their tours, with the musician Peter Moser, included For Beauty Douglas, C’mon Everybody, All Shook Up and Wordshake. These played at the Edinburgh Festival twice and the Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn. Adrian gave her the children’s show The Thirteen Secrets of Poetry for a birthday present, which she performed in various venues and schools around the UK for 5 years.

She précised the stories of Balzac for Adrian as part of his research and adapted two of his children’s books into plays. One of these, Nobody Rides the Unicorn has been performed by Puppetcraft at many venues including the Little Angel Theatre in London.

After Adrian’s death, she devised, wrote and directed Umpteen Pockets, an anarchic cabaret for Primary school children, and Love Songs of WW3, a show of Adrian’s poems and songs. Both shows currently tour to literary festivals, theatre venues and schools.
