NATIONAL FILM AWARDS 2015 Nominations Announced

The National Film Academy has announced the nominations for the National Film Awards 2015. The NFA is the only motion picture awards ceremony worldwide to be held in the UK, North America, South America, Australia and Asia with all categories nominated and voted for by movie fans in each territory.

 

Keira Knightley is nominated for Best Actress and Best Breakthrough Performance for her role in THE IMITATION GAME. This film is also featured in the Best International Film category.

Andrew Scott is nominated for Best Actor and for Best Breakthrough Performance for PRIDE. PRIDE is also up for Best Drama and Best Independent Feature.

Cara Delevingne is nominated in the Best Newcomer Category for THE FACE OF AN ANGEL.

 

Ben Cookson’s ALMOST MARRIED is up for the Best Comedy Award.

EMOTIONAL FUSEBOX, which is written/directed and edited by Rachel Tunnard has been nominated in the Best Short Film category. ECHO which is directed by Lewis Arnold and stars Lauren Carse has also been nominated. 

STARRED UP (written by Jonathan Asser) is nominated for Best Drama as are BELLE (directed by Amma Asante) and MR TURNER (directed by Mike Leigh).

Amma Asante and Mike Leigh are both nominated for Best Director. MR TURNER is also up for Best Film. 

 

THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING (starring Eddie Redmayne) and GONE GIRL (starring Rosamund Pike) are both nominated for Best International Film. LOCKE (starring Tom Hardy) is nominated for Best Thriller and 

ELECTRICITY (starring Christian Cooke) is up for Best Screenplay.
