Mark has been the Artistic Director of the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh since 2003.

Before that he was the Artistic Director of the Brunton Theatre between 1997 and 2003 during which time he directed twenty productions, of which nine were World Premieres. During his time there he increased audience sizes and associated the Brunton Theatre with a national reputation for new work, Shakespeare and original pantomimes.

Before arriving at the Brunton, Mark was Associate Director at Nottingham Playhouse under Ruth Mackenzie and Martin Duncan. He has also been Assistant Director with the RSC and the Theatre Royal, Stratford East.
